To enable students to explore in greater depth an area of accounting or finance of their choice. This may be one of:
(i) an examination of the relationship between accounting/finance and behavioural/organisational concerns,
(ii) an in-depth study of an event or organisation related to accounting/finance,
(iii) an examination of some aspect(s) of the accounting or finance professions.
This module is assessed by means of an individual project, in which the student is expected to address, in an in-depth manner, an issue of interest to them which examines the social context of accountants, accounting information, finance, financial institutions, or business organisations.

Teaching Rationale And Relationship
As an individual research topic, the module requires very few lectures, which are on topics such as library resources, and research methods. However, students are guided in their research by their supervisor through individual tutorials.
