Subject Scholarships
There are a number of individual subjects and degrees which offer specific financial support or prizes to students:
Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects
- Eliahou Dangoor Scholarship - 44 awards of £1,000 aimed at talented, first year UK undergraduate students from under-represented or non-traditional backgrounds studying science, engineering and maths related courses
- Crozier Fund - provides educational bursaries for women of up to £2,000 from Tyne and Wear or Northumberland to study science
- The AMEC Natural Resources – Chief Operating Officer’s Bursary - an award of £3,000 per year, available to a North East undergraduate engineering student
- James Skillington Memorial Scholarship - A £2,000 award (split over three years), awarded each academic year for a UK undergraduate student studying Chemistry
- Charles Letts Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship - designed to support applicants to undergraduate degree courses, in the area of Marine Science and Technology
- Hodcroft Larsen Undergraduate Scholarship - an award of £3,000, available to a first-year UK undergraduate student, studying Chemical Engineering
- Hodcroft Goodland Ventures Undergraduate Scholarship - an award of £3,000, available to a first-year UK undergraduate student, studying Chemical Engineering
- GL Noble Denton - an award of £3,000 per year, available to a UK undergraduate Marine Science and Technology student
- School of Marine Science and Technology Scholarships - awards of up to £1,500 for Marine Science and Technology undergraduate students. Subject to specific criteria
- School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) Excellence Scholarships - provides £2,000 per year and a laptop for Home/EU undergraduate EEE students who achieve A level grades of AAB or equivalent
- School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) Achievement Scholarships - awards of £1,000 per year plus a laptop for Home/EU undergraduate EEE students. Subject to specific criteria
- School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) Overseas Scholarships - fee discounts of £3,000 per year for overseas EEE students who meet specific criteria
- Wilson Campbell Scholarship - awards of £1,000 per year for Home/EU EEE students. Subject to specific criteria
- E3 Academy Sponsorship - sponsorship scheme worth up to £5,000 per year for undergraduate EEE students
- Sevcon Sponsorship - generous student sponsorship scheme including fee waivers and paid work placements for undergraduate EEE students
- School of Computing Science Excellence Scholarships - awards of up to £1,500 for Home/EU undergraduate Computing Science students. Subject to specific criteria
- School of Mechanical and Systems Engineering Scholarships - awards of up to £4,000 for Home/EU Mechanical and Systems Engineering undergraduate students. Subject to specific criteria
- School of Mathematics and Statistics Scholarships and Bursaries - awards of up to £1,250 for UK/EU undergraduate Mathematics and Statistics students. Subject to specific criteria
- School of Biology Excellence Scholarships - awards of up to £1,500 for Home/EU undergraduate students in the School of Biology. Subject to specific criteria
- School of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development Excellence Scholarships - eight awards of £1,000 for undergraduate students in the School of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development. Subject to specific criteria
- School of Civil Engineering and Geosciences - Civil Engineering Excellence Scholarships - awards of up to £4,000 plus a start-up welcome pack, including personal protective equipment and key text books - aimed at new undergraduate entrants on BSc, BEng and MEng programmes. Subject to specific criteria
- School of Civil Engineering and Geosciences - Geomatics Excellence Scholarships - awards of £3,000 plus a start-up welcome pack, including personal protective equipment and key text books - aimed at new undergraduate entrants on BSc programmes. Subject to specific criteria

Mature students
- Pybus Fund - awards of up to £2,000 for female, mature students from Tyne and Wear studying any discipline
