Why did you choose Newcastle University?

I got such a good vibe as soon as I arrived in Newcastle and I knew straight away that I wanted to come here. The city is great for shopping and nightlife as well as the university being of a very high standard.

What do you think of your course so far?

My course has been challenging but definitely worthwhile. I’ve made a great set of friends on the course which makes getting in to uni early not quite so hard. The course has been balanced well with lectures and practicals which made it more exciting.

Is there anything that has surprised you about either the course or University, which you didn’t know about before you came here?

I was surprised at how all of the years integrated so well and at how the upper years were so willing to help out with any problems.

What are the facilities in your school like?

The lecture theatres are all modern and state of the art making the lectures more comfortable and enjoyable. The Fell cluster allows for 24 hour computer access which is also a great facility.

Tell us about any field trips or project work you have taken part in

Each year Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle Dental schools meet up for a day of socialising and sport followed by a bar crawl in the city its held in, and is always a really good night!

How would you describe the city?

I'd describe Newcastle as fun, young and diverse.

Do you have any tips for living in student accommodation?

I stayed at St. Mary’s College last year which was great as it was smaller so you got to know people really well even though it is off campus, and so you have to not mind the walk every morning!

Where do you live and what is it like?

I live in West Jesmond this year with my house located right next to Tesco’s, Gregg’s and Starbucks among other shops. It’s ideally placed and has a great student vibe to the area.

How do you spend your spare time?

I spend my spare time training for athletics, at the gym or relaxing with friends.

What is the best thing about being at Newcastle University?

The best this about being at Newcastle University is all the friends that I have made up here and the city nightlife!
