After visiting many of the top institutions, it was clear that Newcastle was the place where I wanted to do my undergraduate studies.
The facilities were superb; there is a fantastic gym, student union and all of this is so close to the city centre. The fact that the Geography department is research lead was a significant attraction as it meant all the course material would be current and cutting-edge.
The Geography department, and its supportive atmosphere, has allowed me to thrive into an interested and self-sufficient geographer. I now specialise in physical geography and the staff who teach the modules have unearthed a desire which finds me wanting to research further within academia.
I represent the Newcastle 1st XV in Rugby Union and therefore I’m heavily involved with the sporting aspect of Newcastle University. There are great facilities available to participants and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time playing at the top level of University Rugby.
