Jonathan Geographic Information Science BSc Honours

Choosing Newcastle

Newcastle was one of the three universities that did my course and the other two were a lot further away from home and were expensive to live. Newcastle has fantastic industry links resulting in a 95%+ employment or further study for my course.

Recommending Newcastle

If you enjoy ICT and Geography then Geographic Information Science is a good course for you with a massive range of job opportunities and a demand for more qualified people.

Describing Newcastle

A friendly, vibrant city with good nightlife and all the facilities you want within walking distance.

Clubs and societies at Newcastle

I am a member of the Tae Kwon Do Club, Civil Engineering Society and Geosciences Society. There’s a massive range of societies with every sport you can think of, apart from the course’s societies and specific interests.  I had done Take Kwon Do before to a high level but stopped for GCSE and A-Level education and it is very good to continue the sport.

Living in Newcastle

I live at Central Link in a great location near St James Park football ground and five minutes’ walk from the city centre. It is the most expensive hall but it is worth it if you can get in, with fantastic facilities. The accommodation process is quite simple and all is done online.
