Choosing Newcastle
I decided to choose Newcastle University after attending a visit day, during which I was impressed by the city which offers a range of shops, restaurants, night clubs and bars. I was also influenced to join Newcastle University due to the volunteers on the Visit Day who were all very friendly and enthusiastic!
Course so far
The course is great! It is very well structured, with a mixture of lectures, problem classes and drop-ins. The lectures are also very friendly and always willing to help if you get stuck or need extra guidance.
Facilities
The facilities are fantastic! The school has its own computer cluster with printers, study rooms and a vending machine!
City
Newcastle is an amazing city! There is so much to do with loads of shops, a regular Sunday market at the Quayside, and a range of restaurants. Newcastle also has a vibrant nightlife, with variety of clubs and bars, with cheap student nights. The beach is also only short metro ride away!
Where Live
In first year I lived in Richardson Road student halls, which was great fun! Student halls have such a great atmosphere and being around so many other students also helps you to quickly settle into university life. In second year I ended up living with friends that I met in halls, we got a house in West Jesmond which is only a short journey away from the University and town centre.
Best Thing
The nightlife!
