Charlotte Civil Engineering Beng

Course dates: 2011 - 2014

Choosing Newcastle

I chose Newcastle as it was a campus university and also the staff in the school are very enthusiastic about the course.

Studying at Newcastle

I thoroughly enjoy my course, it is very challenging however I enjoy the way in which it has a very wide span of topics. University has been very helpful with my dyslexia and my lecturer has help me in many areas of my writing and gone much further than I would have expected any lecturer to do.

At the beginning of the year we went to Gritford Lodge, which was really great as we met people who we would be working with in groups throughout the year. The trip gave us ideas of civil engineering at a basic level but also helped us to get to know the people on the course - fun and educational.

Living in Newcastle

The city is very busy and has great attractions in the day and night. It meets all the needs you could what for a student. I live in Victoria Halls which is very modern and clean. As a tip I would say get to know not just your flat mates but everyone on your floor.

Best thing about Newcastle

I enjoy my course but I also enjoy playing hockey at the university as I get to meet students that are not just on your course or in your year.
