Rebecca Civil Engineering BEng Honours

Choosing Newcastle

At the open day, I enjoyed the course presentation and the staff and students were very enthusiastic and helpful. The atmosphere around the city was vibrant but friendly and the size of the city suited me well.

Best thing about your course

We cover a wide variety of Civil Engineering modules which is great as you know very little to start with. As we have a lot of hours of lectures you spend a lot of time with your course mates and make some great friends.

Recommending Newcastle

Newcastle is a great city providing many opportunities for all sorts of fun. The nightlife is fantastic, and never disappoints.

Civil Engineering at Newcastle is a highly regarded degree, providing many opportunities, not only within engineering. The course is fun and diverse, and has a lot of group work which develops lots of skills.

Describing Newcastle

Newcastle is a city for everyone. The atmosphere in the city provides a safe and friendly environment. Newcastle accommodates everyone’s interests with a vibrant centre, strong sporting background at St James’ Park, loads of open parks through the city and the beach is only a few stops away on the Metro.

Clubs and societies at Newcastle

There are a huge amount of clubs and societies you can join. I have been a member of the Athletics and Cross-Country Club for the past three years. I have travelled all over the country to compete for the University, including the Olympic Stadium. Most of these trips are great fun!
