What made you choose Newcastle University as the place to study your degree?

I chose Newcastle as my first university choice as I had heard from people I already knew here that it was a great place to study and live. The university has an excellent reputation and great teaching; there is also a lot to do in the city and a great night life. Coming to the open day confirmed all of this, so I knew that Newcastle was where I wanted to be.

What do you like most about your School at Newcastle University?

The aspect I most like about the politics school is that it is friendly, and the staff are always willing to help you if you need it.

What are the best bits about your course which you think future potential students should know about?

There are a wide variety of modules to choose from on the politics degree course, from other subjects as well as politics. The modules  are really interesting and cover a lot of ground and many different aspects of politics; from British to International, and some more theoretical ideas too.

What do you think of our academic/social facilities?

The facilities at Newcastle are excellent; there are loads of computers which are easily accessible, and the libraries are also good places to get your work done. The social facilities are great with lots of societies to join and the Union to go to. There is also lots of sport, drama and music going on so it is easy to get involved. There is also a Careers service which is very useful.

What do you like best about the city?

Being a student, Newcastle is a fantastic place to live; the people are friendly, there is a lot to do and see, as well as having a great night life. On the scale of things, it is also not a very expensive place to live, and the city itself is a good place to be.
