Choosing Newcastle
We may have an idea of what we want to study at university, but the big question is WHERE? As for me, it was Politics at Newcastle University. It’s important to choose a reputable and well-renown department. Newcastle University has well-structured courses and friendly, approachable teaching staff. The friendly and brilliant lecturers make you fall in love with the university and the city.
Studying at Newcastle
What I particularly like about Politics at Newcastle is the flexibility in terms of module choice. The lecturers are just brilliant – they are real mentors and friends and they push you hard, but for the right reasons. The combination of lectures, small group seminars, enables you to optimally gain and apply knowledge. Studying politics at Newcastle gives you the opportunity to develop the skills to make sense of that world. The course also reflects the value of the transferable skills students can gain, the ability to analyse complex issues and reach reasoned conclusions, to present coherent arguments in written and oral form.
Living in Newcastle
Newcastle won't disappoint you. There is so much to do and to see. The University’s central location means that there are lots of coffee shops and other social hotspots to spend free-time between lectures and seminars.
Socialising at Newcastle
A wide range of clubs and societies covering a wide variety of interests are available for students to join or attend. The Student Union also runs variety of activities for students. Alternatively, there are always public lectures and seminars by high profile speakers which are open and free to all.
Best thing about Newcastle
The opportunities to study abroad, start your own society or join in with others are plentiful. The departments also have committees which are run by students. The lecturers have open-door policy so they are always there for your help.
