Choosing Newcastle
Newcastle was my first choice University. It has an excellent reputation. During my visit to the department at an Open Day, all the students and staff were really welcoming and enthusiastic about what they were learning or teaching.
The lecturers at Newcastle are all actively involved in ongoing research and are therefore able to relate their own work into our lectures, offering up to date information and making it more interesting for us.
Your course
In terms of the course content, there is a really wide range of modules which you can choose from. The degree programme if flexible, meaning you can choose physical and human geography modules all the way through your degree.
For me, one of the best parts of the course has been the second year fieldtrip to Krakow. Along with 30 fellow students, we had the opportunity to visit a number of high profile companies including Google and Motorola, an experience which some of my friends at other universities haven’t had the chance to do.
