The course has strengthened my interest in Geography, through the sheer variety of modules you are able to choose from, including Social, Political and Economic Geography and Environmental Sciences. My confidence has grown personally, and academically in the field of Geography, I now feel fully equipped to enter the world of full time work.
You are constantly studying different topics and lecturers bring in contemporary knowledge through their own research and things going on in the world around you, so there’s never time to get bored. There are plenty of opportunities to study abroad whether through Erasmus or Student Exchange Programmes. Personally, I loved Newcastle so much that I did not want to pursue these opportunities.
GeogSoc, our student society has enabled me to make some amazing friends. The friends you make at university will be your friends for life. We’ve had a weekend away to Edinburgh, variety of monthly socials around the toon (Newcastle) and Summer Ball. There’s also the opportunity to represent GeogSoc in the intramural football and netball teams.
