I chose Newcastle University because it is a Russell group University with an excellent reputation. I decided Newcastle was my first choice after a visit day where everybody I spoke to had positive things to say about the University, the course and the city. I also liked the fact that it was a city centre University meaning everything is within close proximity.
The students’ Union was re-opened this year after refurbishment and it now has great facilities for both working and socialising.
The careers service is one of the best in the country and you can go for advice up to 3 years after you graduate. They offer a range of workshops and lectures by employers from large firms so you can get an idea of what you want to do in the future; it is also good because you can attend a drop-in session at any time without having to arrange an appointment.
Living in Newcastle
Newcastle is a safe and friendly city. It has some of the best student nights out. Most student halls and areas of residence are within walking distance from the university.
