Course Dates: 2010 - 2013
Studying at Newcastle
The Course so far has been challenging but also engaging and interesting.
We had a field trip to Lindisfarne, in the history of English. It was extremely fun and I enjoyed being able to put what we'd been learning on paper into perspective and give it some purpose.
Living in Newcastle
It is so vibrant and friendly. The city is actually fairly small in comparison to some places I have visited and everywhere is pretty much within walking distance so it has a homely feel to it.
I live in West Jesmond. It is a heavily populated student area, but this means that it is fairly easy to get to friends' houses. I also feel very safe walking around there.
Accommodation Tip -Make as many friends as you can as soon as you can so as not to be tied to one friendship group. Also, try and leave off the house buying as long as you can, until you are certain the people you want to live with are the right ones - it is a big commitment.
Socialising at Newcastle
I spend a lot of time producing plays for the theatre society and I also have been known to make costumes for them as well. Apart from that I love meeting up with friends for drinks.
Best Thing about Newcastle
The people that I have had the opportunity to meet and the way this has enabled me to become more confident in myself and what I want to do after university.
