Choosing Newcastle

I chose Newcastle because it had a studious yet lively atmosphere. The area around the Armstrong building is beautiful and when I first visited I immediately imagined myself going to study there.

Best thing about your course

I like how independent you can be in your studies. After your first year, you can chose modules that are most suited to you. You can chose familiar topics or choose something you have never done before and explore different periods.

Recommending Newcastle

I would recommend Newcastle as the University takes pride of place in the centre of the city and it has such a good reputation that you feel proud to be a part of it.

Describing Newcastle

A metropolitan yet compact city with everything at hand to cater for all your needs, and the nightlife is one of the best with so many different clubs and bars to go to!

Clubs and societies at Newcastle

There is such a wide range, particularly in media opportunities with the student newspaper, radio and TV. I have been involved in the newspaper ‘The Courier’ since I started at Newcastle and have worked my way up to be a Sports Editor this year. It provides such a great platform on which to build my future career.

Living in Newcastle

I live in Jesmond – very easy to find somewhere as Jesmond is almost like a city within a city and has a lot of student houses to take your pick from.
