Studying at Newcastle
Studying music at Newcastle is unlike anywhere else in the world. The subjects and classes available are immensely diverse and interesting and cover a wide range of musical tastes and interests. Every genre of music is supported: from classical to jazz, folk, pop and electro-acoustic. The standard of teaching is exceptional and the students benefit from brand new world-class facilities. It is a fantastic degree and I would recommend it to all prospective students.
Living in Newcastle
The best thing about living in Newcastle is the people you will meet. I live in Spital Tongues and it is good as it's near the campus and the sports centre however I would recommend living in Jesmond as it's really well catered for students.
Accommodation tips - Come ready to have a good time and meet as many people as you can. Everyone's in the same boat and wants to meet you too! Consider what kind of experience you would like from your accommodation and then choose the halls that you feel will best suit this.
Being an International student at Newcastle
The advice I would give is to be prepare for the winter! It is a lot colder than you might expect and the rain can be a little daunting.
Best thing about Newcastle
The societies, clubs and student nightlife in Newcastle are all amazing. This makes it an incredibly fun place to study and to live.
