Kensington/Park Student Village

Your Village

Kensington/Park Student Village includes the most residences out of the three, and includes Kensington and Park Terraces, Windsor Terrace, Jesmond Road, Grand Hotel, Bowsden Court and St Mary’s College. Whilst all the residences are very different, they are all known for their charm and tight-knit communities which create friendships to last a lifetime.

These residences are home for undergraduates, postgraduates and families, allowing for each to have a unique feel and range of events. Each is as individual as you, and ResLife will help you create memories that you can remember forever!

Your village colour is blue, and your ResLife Coordinator is Stephen; click here to get to know him and get in touch!

ResLife Coordinator

Greetings from Steve, your ResLife Coordinator here at the Kensington/Park Student Village. How do you know if you’re part of KPSV? That’s easy; if you’re not staying at Castle Leazes or Park View, you’re on my team!

So what’s ResLife? In short we’re here to help you settle in, build a community and make your stay the best it can be. We run weekly events across the student villages and larger events at specific times of the year. These will include activities during the welcome week, Halloween and Christmas, as well as an Annual Village Fete.

ResLife also offers peer support, education and advice through our ResLife Student Assistants program.  RSAs will hold drop-in sessions most evenings and weekends; additionally, I’m also on site at Bowsden Court, St Mary’s and Kensington Terrace for drop-in sessions on a weekly basis. If you’re ever in need of support and I’m not on site, please feel free to contact me at or so I can arrange an appointment for you!

ResLife Student Assistants

ResLife Student Assistants (RSAs) will provide mentoring and support, responding to the needs of the students in Kensington/Park Student Village, and provide opportunities for education, personal growth and social interactions.

They are experienced students who have lived in the student accommodation and are able to draw upon their own experiences to help with emotional issues, missing home, academic worries, as well as building personal skills to live independently, guiding you through having challenging discussions with flat mates, or simply to be available in drop-in sessions for when you might need to talk to someone. The RSAs will also be able to signpost you to relevant university Services offering support and guidance; this might include Student Health and Wellbeing, the Students’ Union (NUSU), the Sports Centre, Student Services, the Careers Service, the Library and Writing Development Centre, and relevant external providers and services.

Some RSAs will be living on site, and some will take part in activities whilst being able to share their experiences living in the wider community. All RSAs will be able to give peer support as well as offer ‘top tips’ for you to fully enjoy your time on your course and in your accommodation.

We will be running recruitment days throughout the year, so if you would like to apply to be a ResLife Student Assistant, get in touch at
