Park View Student Village

Your Village

Park View Student Village includes the largest number of students, from across Park View and Marris House. This makes for a lively site which often mingles with its neighbour, Castle Leazes, just across the moor. Some might say it’s double trouble, but we see it as double the fun!

The central common room is a hub for you to meet new friends, have a go at gaming, as well as do some private or small group studying. ResLife will also be using spaces in the Baddiley Clark building within the Forum and the Seminar Room to allow you to enjoy networking events, movie nights, quiz nights and a whole lot more.

Your village colour is green, and your ResLife Coordinator is Pam; click here to get to know her and get in touch!

ResLife Coordinator

My name is Pam and I'm the ResLife Coordinator for Park View and Marris House residents in the Park View Student Village.

Park View Student Village is really easy to navigate, and you’ll find me and the rest of the PVSV ResLife team at the reception in the ground floor of the Alwin building.

ResLife are here to support you ensure you get everything you need throughout your stay in our accommodation. We will be there to signpost you when you need help, be a listening ear, organise events and activities to make sure your time with us is as enjoyable as possible. We will make sure you are kept up to date with our upcoming events and activities so you can factor in some fun in between your studies.

Each student village has its own colour identifier, and at team PVSV we are all things green, so it will be easy to spot your neighbours and PVSV site-mates when you are out and about on campus.

Don't hesitate to contact me with any accommodation or University-related questions you may have at or!

ResLife Student Assistants

ResLife Student Assistants (RSAs) will provide mentoring and support, responding to the needs of the students in Park View Student Village, and provide opportunities for education, personal growth and social interactions.

They are experienced students who have lived in the student accommodation and are able to draw upon their own experiences to help with emotional issues, missing home, academic worries, as well as building personal skills to live independently, guiding you through having challenging discussions with flat mates, or simply to be available in drop-in sessions for when you might need to talk to someone. The RSAs will also be able to signpost you to relevant university Services offering support and guidance; this might include Student Health and Wellbeing, the Students’ Union (NUSU), the Sports Centre, Student Services, the Careers Service, the Library and Writing Development Centre, and relevant external providers and services.

Some RSAs will be living on site, and some will take part in activities whilst being able to share their experiences living in the wider community. All RSAs will be able to give peer support as well as offer ‘top tips’ for you to fully enjoy your time on your course and in your accommodation.

We will be running recruitment days throughout the year, so if you would like to apply to be a ResLife Student Assistant, get in touch at
