We offer catered and self-catered accommodation. Find out what's included with each type.
Catered University Accommodation
Catered University AccommodationThe catered package includes breakfast and evening meals on weekdays during term time. All of our food is freshly prepared by our in-house catering team, with healthy and indulgent options clearly signposted.
Choosing catered accommodation at Castle Leazes will make budgeting easier, means fewer trips to the supermarket and there's no washing up! You'll also have a small kitchen equipped with cooker, microwave, refrigerator, kettle and toaster where you can prepare drinks and light meals when catering isn't provided.
We don't include crockery, cutlery or cooking utensils so you'll need to bring these with you or, once you've arrived, share the cost with other students on the floor.
We can meet most dietary requirements but not all, so if you are specific about the food you like to eat you may prefer our self-catered accommodation. We are unable to offer Kosher, Vegan or Halal diets.
Self-catered University accommodation
Self-catered University accommodationThe self-catered option gives you space and equipment to prepare your own meals. You can cook your own meals, eat at one of the various EAT@NEWCASTLE outlets on campus or explore the many restaurants and cafes in Newcastle.
Kitchens are equipped with cookers, microwaves, refrigerators and freezers, ironing boards, vacuum cleaners, kettles and toasters. Crockery isn't automatically included in your accommodation, but you may have the opportunity to purchase items when you accept your accommodation contract, depending on where you will live. For more information, refer to our Accommodation Overview (PDF: 75KB) which details what each residence provides.
You'll live in a flat or corridor with a number of bedrooms sharing a central kitchen, common room and bathroom facilities if an en suite is not provided.
