From September 2019 Barker House will be managed by Homes for Students and will no longer be a Newcastle University property. This will not affect current residents; in addition, current residents will be given an opportunity to stay in Barker House for another year under the new ownership.

Bus companies operate services to Barker House from the city centre. There is a bus stop directly outside the block.

Calls to this number will cost 10 pence a minute from a landline and considerably more from a mobile.
From Newcastle Central Station you can take a bus and taxis are also available.
Newcastle International Airport is about seven miles northwest of Newcastle University.
A taxi from the airport will take about 15 minutes, costing approximately £15.
You can also travel by Metro (rapid transport system) to Central Station which will take about 30 minutes. You can then take a bus to Barker House.
