EAT@Castle Leazes offers good quality food and hassle-free meals with no need to cook after a busy day; to get an idea of what you can enjoy, take a look at our sample menus. Vending machines on site also provide sweets, snacks and drinks 24/7. 

Access and safety

Accommodation is arranged in a number of buildings ranging from four to nine floors around courtyards. Lifts are available in four of the buildings. 

We take the safety of our students very seriously and Estates Security Officers patrol our accommodation to ensure your peace of mind.

A Residences Manager is responsible for Residential Services as well as welfare and discipline and a Customer Services Manager is responsible for Reception Services.

Your contract

Castle Leazes is University-owned accommodation.

2021-2022 residents

The contract is a fixed term period of 39 weeks and covers the duration of the academic year. Rents are charged per day, so if your contract differs to the standard dates above (i.e. earlier arrival), you will incur additional accommodation charges at the relevant daily rate.

All utility bills are included; WiFi is free, and we also provide Personal Possessions Insurance.

Reception opening times

Reception doors are open Monday to Friday, 08.30 – 17.45 and the Customer Services team can also be contacted by telephone and email from 08.00 – 18.00.

Due to the ongoing Covid 19 situation, our reception opening hours are subject to change.  Any amendments will be communicated to our residents and signage showing the new opening hours will be displayed by the reception entrance.

Key collection for new arrivals

We look forward to welcoming you to your new home. When you arrive into Newcastle, please make your way to reception to collect your keys.

If you expect to arrive outside of opening hours, you'll need to contact our Estates Security Office on +44 (0) 191 208 6817. Security Officers will arrange to meet and give you your key and you will be asked to show a copy of your Accommodation Acceptance with details of your room allocation.
