Overview
Windsor Terrace is one of our University-owned residences, available for staff and visitors.
This three-storey building is located behind the Philip Robinson Library, only a seven-minute walk from the centre of campus and the city centre’s shops, bars and restaurants. Small and standard rooms with shared facilities are available for stays of between 14 nights and 12 months.
Location
Windsor Terrace is in an ideal location beside both the Philip Robinson Library and the Marjorie Robinson Library Rooms. It’s only a short walk to the centre of campus, and Newcastle’s main shopping street – Northumberland Street. Both Haymarket and Jesmond metro stations are in easy reach, connecting you to the rest of the city’s attractions and amenities including central train station, the airport and the beach.

Reception doors are open Monday to Friday, 08.30 – 17.45 and the Customer Services team can also be contacted by telephone and email from 08.00 – 18.00.
By Metro
Jesmond and Haymarket Metro stations are both a short walk away.
There are Metro trains every five minutes during the day to and from both these stations to Newcastle city centre.
Windsor Terrace is within five minutes’ walk of the city centre where there are buses, Metros and trains to all locations.
By Bus

Calls to this number will cost 10 pence a minute from a landline and considerably more from a mobile.
By train
From Newcastle Central Station you can take the Metro directly to Haymarket or Jesmond stations (three and four stops respectively).
Taxis are also available from the Central Station.
By air
Newcastle International Airport is only about seven miles northwest of Newcastle University.
A taxi from the Airport will take about 15 minutes, costing approximately £15.
You can also travel by Metro to Jesmond or Haymarket stations which will take approximately 20–25 minutes.
Key points and facilities
Windsor Terrace has nine small and four standard single occupancy rooms available. Kitchen and bathroom facilities are shared by all guests. Kitchens include a cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster, iron & ironing board. They also have a breakfast bar and bar stools. We provide crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment and you will have use of the onsite laundrette.
Guests are responsible for cleaning their own room, although shared areas will be cleaned by our team weekly. Rooms will be made up for your arrival, with bedding and towels provided and can be laundered by guests during their stay by using the onsite laundrette (chargable).
Employees of the University are given priority for this accommodation. Rooms are available for stays of between 14 nights and 12 months.
This bedroom combines a work/sleep space, including a washbasin, wardrobe, drawers, bedside table, desk, chair, easy chair, and a bed.
