Background

I am a Newcastle University Research Fellow with areas of expertise in Affective Neuroscience and Animal Welfare.

I am interested in understanding the brain mechanisms underlying affective experiences in human and non-human primates, using neuroimaging and behavioural approaches. I want to use this knowledge to help designing new strategies to improve human mental health but also to improve the welfare of primates used in biomedical research.

In the past, I also worked extensively on the neural bases of auditory processing.

Teaching

I teach in the Master Applied Animal Behaviour and Animal Welfare and regularly supervise student research projects.
