As part of NCL in Action 2024, we're running a series of lunchtime online workshops where you can learn from industry leaders in your alumni community about how to overcome some of the most common barriers to career progression.

The ability to collaborate across geographies, functions, levels and even generations has become increasingly important for organisations in a rapidly changing world, where remote and hybrid working has become a way of life. These “cultural differences” can either be a source of strength, fostering creativity and innovation, or a potential roadblock, leading to misunderstanding and communication breakdown.

During this session, Newcastle alumna Heather Gupta will take a deep dive into some of these cultural differences, offering simple tools and strategies to help support effective communication, collaboration, and inclusivity.

Other topics covered during the career progression workshops include imposter syndrome and financial empowerment & wellbeing. You can register for one or all of the workshops in the series. However, please note that there are limited places available for each of the workshops and places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
