Ben (MB BS 2017)
Ben’s intercalation year was made possible by a Barbour Foundation scholarship.
'Without the Barbour Scholarship, I would not have been able to study for this intercalated degree. Receiving the funding gave me a chance to contribute to the growing body of clinical cardiovascular research coming out of Newcastle.'

Olivia (MA Human Geography Research 2016)
Olivia's Santander Opportunity and Mobility scholarships will allow her to travel to Ecuador to carry out research fieldwork for her thesis.
'From May 2016 I will be spending time in the capital city Quito conducting research with a charitable foundation. I will be looking at human trafficking and working with young women who are receiving support.'

Rebecca (MEng Chemical Engineering 2019)
Rebecca is a first year undergraduate student studying Chemical Engineering. She is the recipient of the Hodcroft Goodland scholarship.
'My hope after graduation is to go into the energy sector, possibly focusing on renewable energy. This is an area of great interest to me, and I believe that renewable energy will play a pivotal role in the future of energy.'
