International giving
We welcome donations from our alumni and other supporters globally. Thank you for your generosity.
If you'd like to make a donation and live overseas, please find donation information for your region below. In some cases, you may be able to receive tax benefits from your country of residence on charity donations.
You can support Newcastle University by donating online via the British Schools and Universities Foundation (BSUF). Remember to state Newcastle University as your recipient.
The BSUF process gifts from the US on the University’s behalf. Gifts made through BSUF to the University are fully tax-deductible for your benefit too. It's no different from donating to a charitable organisation based in the US. Both the University and BSUF will acknowledge receipt for your records.
Newcastle University is registered on a list of worldwide universities recognised by the Canada Revenue Agency. This means the CRA will recognise official donation receipts from Canadian taxpayers on donors' tax returns. Canadian taxpayers' donations to the University will qualify for tax credit.
When we receive donations from Canada, we send donors a receipt with all the necessary information.
Please visit the Canada Revenue Agency website or contact advancement@ncl.ac.uk for more information.

Gift Aid
If you're making a gift from the UK and are a UK taxpayer, your donation will be eligible for Gift Aid.
With Gift Aid, the University will receive 25p on top of every £1 you donate.
If you're a higher rate taxpayer, you can reclaim tax as if it was paid at the basic rate. Reclaim the difference from the Inland Revenue in the form of additional relief, showing the donation on your tax return.
Please complete the Gift Aid declaration form here.
Community fundraising
Fundraising is a fun and rewarding way of supporting us. Depending on how you choose to fundraise, you could build your skills and strengthen your networks at the same time.
From running a marathon to organising an event, there are many ways you can fundraise. Every donation we receive helps us do more as a university to support students and solve global problems.
JustGiving
Setting up a page through JustGiving is an easy way to promote and manage your fundraising. Newcastle University has its own JustGiving page.
If you’d like to fundraise for us, all you need to do is set up your own JustGiving account. Specify that you’re raising money for Newcastle University and say what you’re supporting in ‘Your Story’.
Need help setting up a page? Or maybe you’ve got an idea for an event but don’t know where to start? Talk to us. We can help you get the most out of fundraising with useful material, advice and support.
If you’re organising a reunion, making a class gift together is a wonderful way to mark the anniversary of your graduation.
Contact us for help to organise your reunion and set up your class gift.
The gift of shares can be of great value to the University, as well as a tax-efficient way of giving. Donating shares gives you the chance to support a cause that matters to you, while claiming substantial income tax relief.
If you'd like more information on donating shares, please contact us.
Endowed gifts safeguard the long-term value of your gift. With a permanent or expendable endowment, the University will invest the gift. This allows us to benefit from the annual income from its interest over many years.
There is a minimum donation threshold for endowments. Please contact us for more information.
At certain times of the year, Newcastle University runs telethon appeals. During these appeals we reach out to our alumni via telephone.
