Alumnus CM Angus releases a new Science Fiction novel

A huge congratulations to alumnus Chris Angus, who has released debut novel "Overstrike: Volume I of the Fixpoint trilogy".

Chris Angus, who grew up in County Durham, is fascinated by all things technical and creative.

These passions led to him gaining his PhD in Computing at Newcastle University in 1998, which influences many of the themes in his new novel 'Overstrike'. Some of the references in the book may be familiar to Newcastle students including Blackwell’s bookshop and other locations in the city-centre.

We recently spoke to Chris who gave us some insight into his time in Newcastle upon Tyne. He now lives in Huddersfield, and when not writing, works as an e-Commerce Architect for a global electronics distributor.

Chris’ novel, a Sci-Fi Thriller, published by Elsewhen Press, has been described as a hugely ambitious and complex story, all the while keeping everything grounded in recognisable England with very real characters. In that sense Overstrike is much more in the classic tradition of dark, thoughtful British written science fiction, rather than its more famous, flashy Hollywood counterpart.

You can have a peek at the Speculative Fiction novel by watching this trailer.

Find out more about Overstrike on Amazon or all major eBook platforms or say hi to him when he launches the paperback at Concentric 2020 – the British National Science Fiction Convention.
