Appointment to ARB

Dhruv Sookhoo, Visiting Lecturer within the School, has been appointed as an Examiner for the Architects Registration Board's (ARB) Prescribed Examination. The ARB is the regulatory body for the profession in the UK, and the Prescribed Examination provides an important means for graduates without accredited degrees in architecture to demonstrate equivalency against RIBA Part I and Part II.  Dhruv will be one of around 20 examiners selected from practice and academia to undertake the role. He is believed to be one of the youngest appointments to the pool of examiners since its establishment in 1997.

Speaking of his recent appointment Dhruv said: “It's a privilege to take on this national role, because the examinations provide an important means of ensuring there is a fair point of entry for graduates without accredited degrees who wish to enter accredited architecture programmes and go on to pursue careers as architects.  These robust examinations allow the UK to continue to integrate the best UK and international talent into our architecture education process and professional practice, which is vital to ensure our profession remains diverse and global in its social ambition”.

Congratulations on your new appointment!
