Generation for Change Awards

The recent Generation for Change (G4C) awards, part of Constructing Excellence North East, have recognised the contribution of a Newcastle student and alumna to the profession.

Master of Architecture student, Ruta Bertauskyte, was announced as winner of the Student of the Year – Higher Education award after a nomination by FaulknerBrowns.  The award is for ‘someone who see no boundaries to what they can achieve. An academic high achiever, this individual is also determined to make a positive contribution to the construction industry, education and the local communities in which they work’.

APL alumna, Irina Korneychuk, also won the Future Leader award after a nomination by FaulknerBrowns.  It was noted that ‘Irina is an outstanding individual not only in their field at work but also in the industry and is a keen advocate to encourage upcoming young professionals in construction’.  This follows on from Irina’s recent success at winning the Architects’ Journal Inspiring Graduate Prize.
