North East Collaboration Conference 2018

David Webb hosted an exploration table at the November conference looking into creative ways of working to ensure communities continue to receive much needed support

Against a challenging backdrop of public and voluntary sector funding cuts, scarce resources and high levels of service demand, creative ways of working have never been more pertinent to ensuring communities continue to receive much needed support.

Collaboration provides a vital tool to achieve more, with less.

Hosted by the North East Leaders Network for Social Change, the North East Collaboration Conference provided a unique opportunity for businesses and community organisations to share good practice, discuss opportunities and challenges around collaboration, and enhance networks to aid collaborative working.

The event included talks from Duncan Nicholson, Head of Regional Funding for the North East and Cumbria at the Big Lottery Fund and Nancy Doyle-Hall, Executive Director at Virgin Money Foundation who gave insights on best practice and innovative ways to appeal to funders to secure project funding.

David Webb led an exploration table on behalf of Newcastle University which encouraged participants to explore creative ways to collaborate with like-minded organisations to better appeal to funders and ultimately benefit the local community through their research projects.
