Save Dunelm House

On Friday 23rd March colleagues from the School, supporting the Save Dunelm House campaign, will be hosting a design charrette in Durham.  The day is aimed at drawing on the experience and expertise of architects and engineers to present viable alternative ideas for the future of Dunelm House.  The event is the first in a series of activities that have been supported by the crowdfunder campaign set up earlier in the year (   Six teams are taking part from practices including Hawkins Brown, Levitt Bernstein, 6A and Mawson Kerr, and engineers from Webb Yates, AKT and others.

The teams will be presenting their ideas from 3.30pm at the below address.   This will be followed by open discussions with representatives from the Twentieth Century Society, Durham University Estates, Professor Graham Farmer (from APL) and the writer and critic Owen Hatherley.

Master of Architecture students will also be documenting the event as part of their Linked Research module.
