Coast and Country: Understanding Social Inequalities in Rural Coastal Communities in Contemporary England
My project is about the relationship between class, residence and neighbourhood on the Norfolk Coast in England. It is a geographical Bourdieusian study that gives the kind of attention usually given to urban neighbourhoods to peripheral, rural and suburban localities. I'm investigating cultural consumption, lifestyles, tastes, values and relationship to place through food, art, nostalgia and Facebook. More recently I am interested in education, widening participation and creative methods.
