Venue: G.36, Barbara Strange Teaching Centre

**INTERNAL ONLY**

The Engineers without Borders society will host a panel discussion on gender and race inequalities in engineering at Newcastle University.

The panel will discuss the following questions:

• What are the underlying reasons for the disproportionality in gender in the engineering sector?

• What factors contribute to gender inequality, both in terms of staff numbers and the wage gap?

• What efforts and adjustments can we make to encourage international diversity in the study of engineering and in the engineering workforce?

• Should industry have more say on how engineering is taught in universities?

The event will take place between 18:15 – 19:45 on Tuesday 12 April in room G.36 in the Barbara Strang Teaching Centre.  Refreshments will be provided.
