National Women in Engineering Day (NWED)

Join the celebrations in the UK and Singapore

Date/Time: 9th / 23rd June 2016

Venue: Level 5 Foyer, SIT

Singapore Campus

NUIS is celebrating the National Women in Engineering Day (NWED) on 9th June 2016 between 10am and 1:30pm in Level 5 Foyer of SIT@NYP – mark this date in your diaries! There are a number of activities planned for you. Please see the NWED invitation for more information.

There will be a wind turbine/wind tunnel demonstration for you to showcase one of our stage 3 girl student’s project work in SR5H Lab. There will be prizes for Quiz winners. You can enjoy and have fun!

We need volunteers to assist with the NWED event arrangement and to set-up a photo booth and quiz related activities in Level 5 foyer of SIT@NYP.  Note that volunteers will be given a certificate for their assistance and participation in NWED and this will look good in your CV!  Please contact Naayagi.Ramasamy@ncl.ac.uk for more information.

UK Campus

Here in the UK, we are running a Twitter campaign to celebrate National Women in Engineering Day (NWED) on 23rd June 2016.

The campaign will be based on the concept of “I’m an engineer because…”  We would like as many female engineering students to take part in the campaign by downloading the NWED placard, writing down a reason and taking a photo of themselves.  The photos can then be uploaded directly to the Twitter feed (#NCL_NWED2016).  Alternatively, students can send their photo to their School’s Twitter account manager to be uploaded on their behalf.
