We are delighted to be hosting an event on the representation of women in politics, to celebrate the centenary of women winning the vote (for some women).

 

This lunchtime event will start with Dr Maarja Luhiste, Lecturer in Politics of Gender and editor of Representation, sharing her expert view on the representation of women in politics.  Chi Onwurah, Labour MP for Newcastle upon Tyne Central, will then draw from her personal experiences to speak about the challenges and opportunities of being a woman in politics. This is a unique opportunity to hear from a current Member of Parliament with strong ties to Newcastle.
