Research background in molecular virology and turnover of extracellular matrix. Expertise in molecular biology and recombinant protein expression.

As Head of School of Biomedical sciences I lead the management of the undergraduate degree programmes run in the school and teach on a range of modules, including:

CMB1004 Cell Biology - cell signalling

CMB1003 Microbiology and immunology - virology

BGM2012 Clinical Immunology & Viral pathogens - viral pathogens (module leader)

BMS3010  Genetics of common disease - genetics of infectious disease

CMB3001 Research design project - supervisor

I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and participate regularly in conferences and workshops relating to higher education and pedagogy.
