Visit Us

We recognise that visiting a department, university and city can be a very valuable step in helping inform your degree choice. To help support you in the process, we provide a series of opportunities for prospective students and guests to visit us.

University Open Days (pre-applicants)

Newcastle University holds open days in the summer and autumn each year which are designed for pre-applicant students, just embarking on the UCAS application process.  There's a variety of activities to help you find out about our courses, the University, student life and the city.

Dates for 2020 will be announced shortly.

Further information on University Open Days/campus tours etc. is available here.

Offer Holder Days

Offer Holder days are very informal and a great opportunity to meet staff and current students and find out more about your courses.  Once you've received a formal offer through UCAS, we'll contact you about the Offer Holder Day via email and hard copy letter.

The University will also host a Services fair for applicants to find out more about the Students Union, accommodation, sport, student finance, student wellbeing and much more.  You can pop into the fair anytime between 9-12noon at the King's Gate Building.

Independent Visits

Where possible, we encourage prospective students to visit us as part of an organised open day/visit day, allowing you to benefit from the range of activities on offer.  However we understand that this isn't always possible.  If you can't attend one of the above events we will do our best to accommodate independent visits, although the availability of staff is limited during busy teaching semesters and out of term time.  To enquire about a visit please contact us.
