Employability Ambassadors

Employability Ambassadors

The Employability Ambassador scheme is a student-led support service. It encourages students to think about work experience and employability at an early stage of their studies.

Our ambassadors use their own employment experiences and successes to support students with how to go about planning their own career development.

They promote the benefits of having a proactive approach to employability, giving advice on things like:

  • securing a year placement
  • finding a lab placement
  • applying for a part time job
  • funding your way through university
  • moving on to further study
  • finding a summer research placement

Become an ambassador

As an ambassador, you'll be responsible for organising events and activities and continually promoting the importance of being engaged in employability.

To apply for a position, you'll need to send us your CV and a cover letter. If you're selected, you'll be employed on a part-time basis during term time. This is approximately three hours per week.  if you would like further information on the scheme please contact Dr Vanessa Armstrong.
