International study at Newcastle

If you don't meet our entry requirements, you might have to do a Foundation Programme in Biomedicine, Biology and Pharmacy. This is offered by INTO Newcastle University.

We guarantee you a place on most of our undergraduate programmes if you complete the foundation programme and meet the progression criteria.  During your foundation programme you are also invited along to some of our taught sessions, to meet staff and students in the School and see our facilities so you feel what it is really like to study one of our degrees.

We offer direct admission to the second year of our undergraduate degree programmes, if you hold a relevant Diploma course in a related subject from a Polytechnic University abroad, and a GPA of at least 3.2.

For more details on applying, or what international qualifications we accept, contact the school.

English requirements

If you're a non-native English speaker you need to give evidence of your English language ability. Our standard requirement is minimum IELTS 6.5 overall and no less than 6.0 in each element or equivalent.

The University offers English language training before your course begins and there is also language support while you're studying.
