Visit Nutrition and Dietetics

We recognise that visiting a department, university and city can be a very valuable step in helping inform your degree choice. To help support you in the process, we provide a series of opportunities for prospective students and guests to visit us.

University Open Days (pre-applicants)

Newcastle University holds open days in the summer and autumn each year. There's a variety of activities to help you find out about our department, the University, student life and the city.  These include our talks and the opportunity to meet our staff and current students.

Our Open Day is designed for pre-applicant students, just embarking on the UCAS application process.

You can keep up-do-date with our next Open Days by checking our website.

You'll need to book a place if you plan to attend.

Independent Visits

Where possible, we encourage prospective students to visit us as part of an organised Open Day/Visit Day, allowing you to benefit from the range of activities on offer.  However, we understand that this isn't always possible.  If you can't attend one of the organised events we will do our best to accommodate independent visits, although the availability of staff is limited during busy teaching semesters and out of term time.  To enquire about a visit please contact us.

Nutrition and Dietetics Offer Holder Days

Our Offer Holder Days are very popular and offer an engaging and interactive way to learn more about our research, teaching and life as a Food and Nutrition or Dietetic student. We strongly value the importance of these days and you will have the opportunity to meet with a wide array of staff and current students who will endeavour to provide as much information as possible.

Once you've received a formal offer through UCAS, we'll contact you about the Offer Holder Days. You can book a place on an Accommodation Talk/Tour to coincide with your visit. These tours are organised by Central University and not the School of Biomedical, Nutritional and Sport Sciences.

We will post the dates of our next Offer Holder dates in due course.

Dietetics Multiple Mini Interviews

As part of our admissions process for the Dietetics course, suitable applicants will be invited for an interview.  If you have been invited for interview and would like further information on the format of the interview please view our Dietetics Multiple Mini Interviews booklet.
