About Bounceback Food CIC
Bounceback Food CIC is an award-winning social enterprise. We're fighting food poverty by teaching people how to cook and donating food to foodbanks.
Since starting out in November 2014 they've:
- donated 7,000+ items of food to foodbanks
- taught 900+ people how to cook healthy meals from around the world using the ‘buy one, give one’ model
Within their community cookery school, this means that every person who pays to join a course also funds a free place for somebody referred to them from a local foodbank or third sector organisation.
At market events, they sell a range of food including:
- pasta
- rice
- soup
- tinned food
This is done using the same principle: the equivalent item bought by a member of the public is also donated to the nearest foodbank.
