Gift in a Tin provides a range of beautifully hand-picked gifts, delivered with a personal message in iconic gift tins. 

Never a great employee, due to always looking for different solutions and never happy to simply just come in and do the job, Anne set up her first business in 1989 to support herself through university. In 2000, Anne started her two-year MBA, learning about enterprise and entrepreneurship, and also undertook coaching and counselling qualifications. In 2004, Anne woke up one morning paralysed from the waist down from a spinal injury and following surgery started the long-haul learning to walk again. She was extremely bored not being able to work so started to research setting up a new business.

Gift in a Tin was set up in 2007, after much research sourcing the best gifts and securing supply chains, with an aim to offer unusual UK sourced products of the highest quality. The business started B2C with a website, prior to the days of huge growth in social media promotion. In year three, the business started trading B2B, and Gift Tins were stocked by over 50 retailers, including high street chains. Tins were also exported to Europe, America and Canada. Initially, Anne was running the business form a home office and storage and packing facility, and roping in her kids to help over busy periods when they were home from university, leading to realisation that B2B trading would require expansion and a complete change in the business model. Anne was working full time as a business coach and decided to return to the initial model of B2C, and that’s where the business sits today, providing lovely gifts direct to customers and their friends and family. The business has survived 11 years of trading, despite copycat businesses using her business innovations.
