Current research projects
1. Accounting and Entrepreneurial Identity: Work already published has looked at how small business owners use accounting to construct barriers to growth. Current work is looking at the ways in which the use of accounting creates tense and ambiguous constructions of organizational life for the small business owner-manager and in turn how this contributes to contested entrepreneurial identity.
2. Later-life Entrepreneurship: This work aims to better understand the motivations and challenges facing mature entrepreneurs in order to identify ways of increasing entrepreneurship in the 50 age group.
3. Micro Business Environmental Responsibility: This project is examining the influences on environmentally responsible practices in small businesses. Work already published has focused on the effects that voluntary environmental reporting has on specific environmental practices in micro businesses. Current work is exploring the roles of network influences on small business environmental practices and reporting.
