Executive Education Scholarships Regulations

The regulations for our full and partial scholarship awards to assist in studying for an Executive MBA, Strategic Leadership MSc or Coaching and Mentoring MSc degree.

Executive Education scholarships for 2022 entry

Newcastle University Business School offers a number of full and partial scholarship awards to outstanding and high-quality students to assist them to study for an Executive MBA, Strategic Leadership MSc or Coaching and Mentoring MSc degree.  

The awards will be credited to the student’s fee account to reduce the overall cost of tuition fees.  

Executive Education scholarships scheme consists of: 

  • Diversity in Leadership Scholarship (Strategic Leadership MSc) 
  • Sustainable Impact Scholarship (Executive MBA) 
  • Sustainable Impact Progression Scholarship (L7 Senior Leader Apprenticeship leading to a PG Dip in Management Studies) 
  • Diversity in Coaching Scholarship (Coaching and Mentoring MSc) 

Terms and conditions

  1. To be considered for awards, applicants must be offered a place to study on the part-time Executive MBA, part-time Strategic Leadership MSc, part-time Coaching and Mentoring MSc or Level 7 Senior Leader Apprenticeship leading to a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies programme at Newcastle University Business School for the 2022/23 academic year.  
  2. Only applicants to the Level 7 Senior Leader Apprenticeship leading to a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies programme are eligible to apply for the Sustainable Impact Progression Scholarship (Executive MBA) 
  3. Applicants to the Level 7 Senior Leader Apprenticeship leading to a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Leaderships are not eligible for an Executive Education Programme Scholarship. 
  4. Eligible applicants will be considered during our interview process and priority will be given to applicants who most effectively satisfy eligibility criteria 
  5. Awards may be exhausted early in the application cycle; early programme applications are therefore encouraged.  
  6. The value of the awards depend on which scholarship students are eligible for/apply to but will range from £6,300 to £25,200 and will be credited to the student’s tuition fee account.  
  7. The Executive Education Scholarships are either fee waivers (Sustainable Impact Scholarship and Sustainable Impact Progression Scholarship) or fee discounts (Diversity in Leadership Scholarship, Diversity in Coaching Scholarship) and have no cash value.  
  8. Successful applicants will be selected on merit, performance at interview, and career progression to date.  
  9. Once scholarship awards are issued; applicants must accept their scholarship offer within the time frame specified in their scholarship offer letter.  
  10. To receive awards, applicants must become registered students at Newcastle University Business School in the 2022/23 academic year for the part-time Executive MBA, part-time Strategic Leadership MSc, part-time Coaching & Mentoring MSc or Level 7 Senior Leader Apprenticeship leading to a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies programme. Awards cannot be deferred to later academic years.  
  11. Scholarships are awarded on the basis students commence and continue their studies for the academic years the scholarship award is offered.  
  12. Scholarships are awarded on the assumption students continue to fulfil the eligibility criteria and intention of the scholarships 
  13. If a student’s personal circumstances change during the programme, in that they no longer meet the eligibility criteria, we reserve the right to review and withdraw the scholarship offer. 
  14. Fully sponsored students do not qualify for these awards. A full sponsorship covers fees and maintenance. The University reserves the right to suspend payment and recover any scholarship amounts already made to students with full funding. 
  15. Newcastle University staff are not eligible to apply for Executive Education Scholarships 
  16. Executive Education Scholarships will not be confirmed unless applicants can satisfy all conditions related to their scholarship offer, even if they are still accepted to study at Newcastle University.  
  17. Successful applicants cannot be in receipt of a Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship award, Vice-Chancellor's Excellence Scholarship award, Vice-Chancellor's Global Scholarship Award, Newcastle University GREAT Scholarship, or an Elite Sports Scholarship. The list of schemes is not exhaustive, and applicants should check the regulations for all funding opportunities to which they apply to ensure eligibility.  
  18. The International Family Discount and Alumni Discount may be held in conjunction with the Executive Education scholarships.  
  19. The Business School’s decision on all Executive Education scholarship awards and interpretation of rules and regulations shall be final: appeals will not be considered.
