Careers Workshops

Our programme of workshops covers a range of topics. From creating a CV to succeeding at interview – there’s something for everyone.

  • applying for jobs - includes workshops on CV writing, tackling application forms, how to use LinkedIn and how to succeed in psychometric tests
  • career planning - explore your strengths and get tips and advice on planning your career
  • China Career Gateway - find out about our exclusive career development programme for Chinese students studying at Newcastle University
  • day in the life of... - find out what it's really like to work in particular careers
  • further study - learn how to make effective applications for postgraduate study, including teacher training, and how to succeed at Medical School interviews
  • gaining experience - get advice on finding and applying for work experience, including placement years
  • international students - includes workshops on immigration routes into graduate jobs, and advice on finding a part-time job, aimed specifically at international students
  • interviews and assessment centres - find advice on how to prepare for video interviews and assessment centres, and how to share information about a disability with an employer

All workshops will take place on Level 1, King’s Gate, unless stated otherwise. 

Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis up to the room capacity; please arrive promptly to avoid disappointment.
