Innovate UK - Digital Health Technology Catalyst 2017

Innovate UK is to invest up to £8m in projects that develop new digital technology solutions to healthcare systems.

The aim of the competition is to speed up the development of new digital solutions to health care challenges and grow the industry.  The types of digital health projects which could be funded include (but are not limited to):-

  • Informatics
  • Data analytics
  • Clinical decision-making support
  • Technologies that, for example, improve access to healthcare or help treatment compliance
  • Emerging digital health technologies with a demonstrated healthcare benefit, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, augmented reality, blockchain and the Internet of Things
  • Digital technologies and products which help overcome privacy challenges of managing data
  • Digitally-enabled medical technologies.

 

Feasibility Projects

Projects must be completed within 1 year.  Costs are expected to range from £50k - £75k.

Industrial Research & Experimental Development Projects

Projects must be completed within 3 years.  Costs are expected to range from £500k - £1m.

Research organisation participation is limited to 50% of project costs 

Projects outside the time durations and costs stated above may be considered but applicants should contact Innovate UK at least 10 days before submission to discuss further.

  • Registration deadline 4/10/2017 noon
  • Competition closes 11/10/2017 noon
  • Applicant notified 17/11/2017
  • Projects must start by 1/2/2018
