About
Our Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care service provides inclusive faith and pastoral support to the whole University community.
We provide this in four main areas:
-
Pastoral Support
Provision of inclusive pastoral support that values the individual, recognising and reflecting the diversity of the University community.
-
Faith and Values
Empowering personal learning and mutual respect around faith and spirituality, providing opportunities for spiritual accompaniment and faith development.
-
Advocacy and Solidarity
Supporting and encouraging the development and collaborations of student and staff faith groups, highlighting and advocating for faith and spirituality needs within the community, and standing up for justice.
-
Building Community
Cultivating an inclusive and diverse community within an environment that seeks meaning, celebrates success and commemorates loss, while forging closer links with city-wide faith communities.
The Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care team is made up of members of different faith and belief communities, currently comprising Chaplains from Buddhist, Christian, Humanist and Jewish backgrounds.
We provide our service to all students and colleagues of the University irrespective of faith or belief background, in line with the University’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy.
