The CISBAN Interactomes Database (CID)

In my research career, I have worked with plants, microbial eukaryotes, yeast, humans and other animals. As a result, I have realised that we can learn more about one organism by studying others. The goal of my research is to do exactly that.

I am building the CISBAN Interactomes Database (CID), which contains information about a wide range of model organisms used in ageing research. The CID database brings together large amounts of information about how the genes and proteins of these organisms interact.

By identifying similarities between the components of different organisms and their interactions, researchers can transfer the gathered knowledge from one organism to another; for example from yeast to human.
