Oral Health Care and Epidemiology

Our research in oral care pathways and epidemiology has direct relevance to services and policy at the local, national and international level. It enables us to track changes and influence the priorities in oral health.

We have multidisciplinary expertise to conduct mixed methods research. We address the priorities identified by the epidemiology and to redefine oral health care strategies.

Key research areas

Our strengths include:

  • research into the economics of oral health care
  • conducting clinical trials
  • expertise in nutrition and its relationship with oral health

Our multidisciplinary research integrates closely with the cross-cutting themes of PeriodontologyPainBiomaterials and Nutrition with the COHR. We explore:

  • care pathways and health economics
  • multicentre clinical trials
  • oral health surveys
  • public health and nutrition

Cross-faculty collaboration

We are affiliated with both the Faculty of Medical Sciences Population and Health Sciences Institute with whom we conduct extensive collaborative research.
