Oral Health Surveys

Our expertise is in dental epidemiology at both national and international levels. This includes skills in fieldwork, data collection, and primary and secondary analysis of large datasets.

We are involved in the major UK decennial Adult and Child Dental Health Surveys and the Thousand Families Cohort Study.

We are undertaking secondary analysis of large epidemiological datasets (for example in the DIAMOND study).

Key research areas

Examples of the value and impact of our work, include:

  • contributing to dental health service planning at national levels
  • informing the commissioners of services about the level of service provision required
  • identifying trends in oral disease to inform planning for future workforce requirements
